Orange marmalade

A soft and fragrant home-made marmalade made from freshly squeezed orange juice is the best treat for tea, which will bring far more benefit than harm.

  • 300 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice (approximately 1 kg orange)
  • 280 g of sugar
  • grated 1 gram of orange
  • 40 g of pectin
  • 40 g of butter
  • 24 g of gelatin (approximately 6 plates)
  • half a bottle of orange essence

Recipe for cooking at home

  1. Leaf gelatin fill with ice water and leave to swell for 20 minutes.
  2. From oranges squeeze 300 g of juice with a juicer, remove a thin layer of peel from one orange and grate it on a small grater.
  3. Combine orange juice with sugar and grated zest, put on fire. Stirring, warming up to warm temperature, “rain” sow on top of the juice of pectin, gently stir. Then add a piece of butter and, stirring, bring everything to a boil.
  4. While holding the saucepan on low heat, add gelatin (squeeze it with your fingers of water) and stir until completely dissolved. Immediately after this remove the mass from the fire. Pour half a small bottle of orange essence and mix.
  5. Rectangular form a parchment paper and pour hot orange mass there. The thickness of the marmalade should not be more than 1.5 cm. After completely cooling, remove the form in the refrigerator to freeze (at least 3 hours, preferably at night).
  6. Готовый домашний апельсиновый мармелад перевернуть на рабочую поверхность, снять пергамент и порезать изделие полосками. Затем нарезать их поперек на кубики одинакового размера и обвалять в сахаре или кокосовой стружке. Сразу после этого можно подавать домашний мармелад к чаю. Приятного аппетита!
